Amanda Ashley is a singer, songwriter, and community arts leader based in Rochester, NY. She began writing music at fourteen and performing by sixteen, later earning her degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Her music blends Pop, Soul, and R&B, and she has toured extensively across the East Coast, Southern U.S., and Northern California. Amanda has released two albums with the Amanda Ashley Trio--Metamorphosis (2014) and Living Dead (2015)—along with singles including “Perfect Sunday,” “Leaves,” and “Home.” She currently writes and performs with her original duo project, SHADES, alongside vocalist and co-writer Abbie Riggins.
Amanda serves as Program Director of Girls Rock Rochester, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing year-round music education and empowerment programs for girls, trans, and LGBTQ+ youth ages 5–17. Through camps, workshops, and sliding-scale programs, she helps create inclusive, creative spaces where young people build confidence, explore their voices, and use music as a powerful tool for self-expression and connection.
