This past weekend I reconnected with some very close friends from the past which brought me back to my core self, and which got me thinking about life. In celebration of my home , and the passing of a new milestone., friends from all areas of my life filled my home bearing gifts and all their support for our recent accomplishment. We reminisced of past memories, and in that moment created a new one, as we laughed, drank, stuffed our faces and enjoyed one another's company.
As life continues to move forward, we'll grow older and wiser, and continue to nurture and hold those whom which had a profound impact on the life you created closer than ever. If you're as fortunate as I, those that love you most will be by your side to show their support, no matter the weather, time, or distance. It's true that friends will filter in and out of your life over time. However, I firmly believe that TRUE friends, will forever be a mainstay no matter how often you see one another or talk on the phone. It's the ones that know and love you for all your faults and short comings the same as they do for each positive quality you possess, the ones that remain free of all judgement, the ones that honor you for all that you are and everything you do, the ones who can find the humor in the most peculiar of scenarios, the ones you can lounge around with all day on the couch free of makeup and in your most unflattering clothing, the ones you can open up to and be as honest with as you are with yourself, the ones that will embrace you for all odd tendencies and erratic behavior, the ones that provide you with their advice and give you their honest opinion when you need it most - it's these friends which I would give my life for, and whom I am sooo grateful beyond all description to have.
It's a new chapter, and a new beginning on many different levels. I'm looking forward to reciprocating that same genuine happiness felt by those of who were in attendance last night when their time comes, and when it's my turn to be there on the other side for their momentous occasion. Despite the massive infallible hangover, the unidentified bruises, and hoarse vocals, today I feel refreshed, truly loved and happier than ever to be me.
